Fee: $10 (cash, check, or money order) + $3 social security card name change
ID: Birth certificate and driver license

Who may Perform the Ceremony: In the state of Colorado any one may perform a ceremony. Only ordained or licensed ministers or a judge of the court may sign the marriage certificate. If a personal friend is performing the ceremony the bride and groom sign the certificate to solemnize their own marriage Law (C.R.S 14-2-109). Signatures are required in two places. Under the officiate and under bride and groom. Couples may need to apply for paper work from the County Courthouse in order to do this. Keep in mind, during the ceremony it is mandatory that the groom says "he takes the bride to be his wife" and the bride to say "she takes the groom to be her husband" for the marriage to be legal.
