Stephanie & Aaron Poust
Married 6/26/07 ~ Grand Junction, Colorado
THE DETAILS
How long to plan the wedding:
Nine (9) months.
Budget: $12,000
Number of Guests:
250 at reception and 50 at our ceremony.
Ceremony Site: Colorado National Monument-Bookcliff Overlook. It was absolutely gorgeous and the Monument is a very inexpensive way to have a breathtaking outdoor wedding in Grand Junction.
Reception Site:
Friend’s house in Fruita.
We wanted a ceremony that just included our immediate family members with a beautiful backdrop and then a large reception in the country. Having a small intimate wedding was perfect for us but we still wanted to share our special day with our friends as well, so this was perfect for us to have the best of both worlds.
The Flowers
Yellow spider mums, blue delphinium, white roses and lilies.
The Food
Potluck/Buffet . It was a great way for family and friends to share in our special day and it saved a lot of money too!
The Favors
Black and white engagement pictures with picture holder.
Special Touches
Instead of the flower girls throwing flower petals we had them each carry a white rose in memory of Aaron’s brother’s Sam and Kyle. During the ceremony, our officiant dedicated part of the ceremony to the girls putting the flowers on chairs next to Aaron’s parents.

Best thing about the Day
All the stress of planning really was worth it, everything was beautiful and we truly had a dream wedding!
What would you do Different
We would have organized sending out our invitations better. It was pretty chaotic and we wish we would have done it all in one day instead of spreading it out.
The Rehearsal Dinner
It was a truly magical night. It was outside at Aaron’s parents’ house and they had flowers and lights everywhere. We started the evening by having cocktails and soon after went into dinner catered by DMT Catering. We gave our wedding party their gifts and recognized all those who put a lot of time and effort into our wedding.
Our Advice
Decide right away if having a big wedding with all your friends and family is your preference or a small intimate family wedding. Decide based on what you want and not what you think others will want because it truly is a day dedicated to and the one you love and everyone else will understand.
Honeymoon Locale
Tulum, Mexico.
RECOMMENDED WEDDING PROS Photographer: The Galleria. Julie and Anna were phenomenal and we would
recommend them to anyone. Our original photographer fell through ten days
before the wedding and we were told by several people that The Galleria was
amazing and it was true. They got every picture we wanted and more. We could
go on and on about them, they were truly amazing! Caterer: DMT Catering |
