How to look your best on Wedding day
by The Grand Junction Day Spa & Salon

Envision a perfect look for yourself and your wedding party and then start planning early on how to achieve it by using this twelve-month plan.

1. Start with joining a fitness center. Immediately schedule a session with a personal trainer who can help you achieve the physical body you would like to have for your wedding day. Make a commitment to a year of regular exercise and eating right. This will not only help you achieve the look you want but will help reduce the stress level that typically comes as the wedding day draws near. Additionally, you will be happier, have more energy, and benefit from a sharper mental state. If members of your wedding party live near you, encourage your wedding party to workout with you. It will give you time to enjoy each other’s company as well as get into great shape for the wedding.

2. Your next step should be deciding on your hair and make-up. Clip pictures from magazines and look through books. Once you have an idea of your look, contact a reputable cosmetologist and aesthetician that can help you get your hair and skin ready for that special day. Schedule a year of appointments including the special pre-wedding appointments for you and your wedding party. Using the right products and having a maintenance program on your hair and skin can give you great results. You will want your hair designer to perform a test run of your wedding updo before that special day. Your professional skin care provider can also help you or will know of someone who can help you with your wedding day make-up.

3. Avoid exposure to the sun and plan to start airbrush tanning at least a month before your wedding day to get an even glow. You will need to get a final airbrush tan about 48 hours before the day of your wedding.

4. Your hands and feet should be maintained all year long through relaxing manicures and pedicures. You should get a pre-wedding manicure and pedicure the day before your wedding. If you are planning close-up photos of your wedding rings consider acrylic nail application at this time as well. Invite your wedding party to join you on that day so that their fingers and toes are also beautiful.

5. During the week of the wedding take some time for yourself and your ‘husband to be’ by having a couples massage to help you relax and capture the love that brought you both to this point.

6. On your wedding day have yourself and your wedding party show up for the wedding hair updo’s and make-up in button up shirts to protect hairdo’s and make-up during clothing change.

7. Finally, relax and enjoy your wedding knowing you look your best!
